The story of Catalina’s La Cantina began when Johnny moved from Denver, Colorado to open Johnny’s Taphouse Bar & Grill in Downtown Tarpon Spring. Right away he noticed a huge void of authentic Mexican restaurants that offered seating and liquor. As time went on Johnny had enough. He took his original employee and chef, Catalina, and decided to open up Catalina’s La Cantina to honor her namesake. Catalina’s La Cantina is housed in Tarpon Springs first gas station situated within the Tarpon Springs Historic District. Featuring a full service liquor bar that serves 50 different tequilas and an everchanging chalkboard menu. They are excited to serve you with their tableside guacamole, fresh tortillas, and tamales at their patio or dining room space.
